On Monday evening in the Princess Theatre Pollards will present Madge Evans, the marvellous child artist at the head of a strong east that includes eight World film stars in “ The Volunteer.” Novelty has olten been claimed for a picture drama, but never has a story had the unique setting and plot ot “ The Volunteer.” The story starts in a studio and in addition to the World film’s immense studio being used for a setting, eight World film stars in Ethel Clayton, Kitty Gordon, June Elvidge, Muriel Ostriclie, Evelvu Greebv, Montagu Love, Carlyle Blackwell and W. A. Brady, take part in the .production. Madge’s father enlists for service in France and her mother joins the Red Cross. The child is taken from her studio work to. go to her mother’s parents. The little studio star finds life strange in the cold atmosphere of a Quaker home and cannot grow accustomed to the change. " Then her last picture is announced at the local theatre. Her grandparents steal into the house and Madge herself walks four miles to attend the performance. Her picture softens the stern heart ot her grandfather, and in the end he not only countenances his son’s enlistment, but forgives Madge’s mother lor marrying “outside the faith.”
