Hiddlestone made 25, Lambert 51, Baker 33, Burton 32, McGirr 19, Brice 18, Hutchings 18, and Condliffc 46, Patrick took 4 wickets fo.r 42, and Mcßeth 3 for 71. Tho Wellington men gave a very solid display of batting. At- the close of the day’s play, Canterbury, in their second innings-, had lost 7 "wickets for 239. Jones made 57 Patrick 33, and Gray 73.
