The entry at Friday’s sale at Preston Yards bv .Mark Sprot and Co. consisted of '29 bead of cattle ('prime quality), 10 very prime bullocks, 14 heifers from South Westland and o cows and heifers from Rotomanu. 'There was a very poor demand for beef, the prices showing a drop of os per lOOlbs. The top price for very prime bullocks was £l9 17s (id, j cows and heifers, on account of Mr A. Fcary, made from £7 to £9, most of the yarding being sold privately. Sheep and Lambs—Three pens of sheep and three pens of lambs were yarded, which sold as follows:—2 pons of prime heavy wethers (shorn), on account of Mr G. Mallinson, made 3(>s 9d, a pen of owes (shorn), on. account of Mr Murray, 32s 9d, one pen of lambs 245, two pens of lambs (extra good), on account of Mr H. Gilmer —(4s 3d.
