The District School temporary Hospital was closed down yesterday. There aro still JO cases in North Clyde native hospital and eight convalescent in the hospital. Whakki reports 14 patients and 40 convalescents. The epidemic is abating everywhere and the cases are ftiilder. AN 8-HOUR MEETING. CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. At a special moving of the Christchurch City Council held last night, to consider the proposal to rescind proportional representation under which the present Council was elected, the Labour members of the Council stonewallel but after a meeting that lasted for over eight hours the motion was carried at 3.35 a.m., by 10 votes to seven.
