The Secretary of the Seamen’s Union states that the position from the men’s point of view, is still the demand for decent living conditions. Ho added: “The owners-of the vessels laid up lie re don’t scorn very anxious to get crews.” The Union Company states that the possiblity of providing temporarily im- j proved conditions is under considortion, and a settlement should soon he reached. When the vessels dock later, work of a permanent character will probably be carried out.
