A German official Note to the Allies on the food situation states that Germany is now verging oil famine. SOLDIERS ‘AND WORKMEN’S CENTRAL COUNCIL. LONDON December 7.

An English’ correspondent in Berlin snys that the real Government of Germany is now in the hands of the National Council, which is elected by tho District Councils of the workmen and soldiers. On this Council every regiment- is now represented. The most powerful, man in Germany says the correspondent is. Ernest Doumig who is President of the .National Council. He formerly was on the “Vorwaerts” newspaper staff. He recently was secretary of the Independent Socialist Party.

Doumig declares that all persons associated with the old regime must go.

THE EXTREMISTS. COPENHAGEN, Dec. 7. •A mass meeting has been held iu the Berlin suburbs, at which SpartaeuS/ speakers declared that if a assembly were summoned, the military would immediately disperse it.

It has been decided that the German National Assembly elections will ljo held bn the 15th of May next.

THE BAVARIAN ELECTIONS. AMSTERDAM, Dec. 7. The elections for the Bavarian Diot will lie held on the 12th ot January. All male and femalo subjects over 20 will bo allowed to vote. Any male or female Bavarian, aged at least 25 can bo elected.
