A RISING MARKET.

(By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as fol lows regarding the above sales on AVed nesday. Fat Cattle. —'There was a small yarding, the quality was good, demand keen ami prices weak. Extra steers sold at £.‘52 10s; prime £24 to £2B 10s; light and unfinished £l(s to £29- Cows and heifers £l2 10s to £lB. 'There were no store cattle for sale.

Fat Sheep.—'There was a comparatively small yarding, and the market was very firm throughout. In fact, it was one of the dearest markets for some time; and anything from is to 2s above last week. Best woolly wethers sold to 555; others 40s to 525; lighter 43s fid to 455; best shorn wethers to 46s 6d, a few show sheep making more. Prime 37s to 41s fid, lighter 34s • fid to 3<ss. There were not a great many ewes offering, hut they sold well on the above parity. Owing to influenza restrictions no store stock of any description was offered, and there is no indication as to when things will be back to normal There have been good rains' here, and i ho prospects of store stock look good.
