President Wilson has offered Mr Baruck, Chairman of the War Industries Board, the Secretaryship of the Treasury. Mr Baruck has not accepted at present, believing his great wealth, which is invested in Government securities, is' on obstacle.
A SHIPPING DEAL,

NEW YORK, November 26.
It is understood the United States Government’s offer to purchase seven twenty-thousand gross tons of British shipping from the International Mercantile Marine Company has been accepted. United States offered the same price as the British Syndicate.
