The Dutch steamer Johanna was mined near Skaw. Fourteen were killed. The vessel is floating and probably will be salvaged.

The first thing was to put right the appalling waste of human material. Ihe slums were not- fit homes for men who had won the war nor nurseries for the. children who werV the future Imperial flace. Tho housing of the people would he a national undertaking. It was essential to havo a more intelligent Agricultural policy. Tho 'land must ho cultivated to the utmost capacity. There must bo the reclamation of land and afforestation and better transportation. If the Government were unable to get along because of Parliamentary obstruction he would again appeal ! to tho people. .
