The death of Mr A. H. Hindmarsh, who was member of Parliament for Wellington South, creates a vacancy in Wellington’s representation in Parliamet. Owing to the prevailing epidemic it is not considered likely that any steps wil be taken immediately to bold an election. The existing emergency laws prohibits all assemblages cf people in halls or otlicil confined places, and in well-informed circles it is believed that the election to fill the vacancy will not take place until the public health has returned to normal.
