Crowds parading Budapest demand the denunciation of the German alliance. • The National Council has issued a manifesto recognising the Poles South Slavs, Czechs, German and Austrian States, and are demanding the immediate peace retirement of Hungarian troops to Hungary, also the annulment of the Brest Litovsk and Bucharest treaties. Telegrams'from Vienna state that it is publicly announced that preparation is being made for demobilisation of the Austro-Hungarian Army. This statement is necessary owing to the pressure of public opinion. People are eagerly demanding peace. The news of the break-up of Austria has a depressing effect on Berlin. NOT SAFE. AMSTERDAM, October 28. The “Vossidhe Zcitung” has arnounced that the Burgomaster of Szcgediu officially requested Emperor Carl and the Empress to postpone thenproposed visit sine die, ns the local authorities were unable to guarantee their personal safety. AUSTRIAN CABINET. LONDON, Oct. 28. The Austrian Cabinet has resigned. M. Lamarsch has been appointed Premier.
