TO-NIGHT.
At the Opera House to-night the star drama, “ The Voice of Conscience ” offers a powerful story of love and adventure for your favorite co-stars, Francis X. Bushman and Beverly Bayne. Mr Bushman has the difficult task of playing two different men, and adorable Miss Bayne plays the roleof Allane Houston, a sterling daughter of the sunny south. It is by a strange turn of fate that William Potter is obliged to impersonate James Houston—to comfort Houston’s dying mother, to protect his young sister, and to handle lus business affairs. Potter falls in love with sweet Allane, but dares not confess his love. Then comes the message that the real James Houston is returning home. This great photo-drama concludes with a highly dramatic and wholly satisfying climax that will delight evervone.
Fatty Arbnckle will be presented in the comedy “The Moonshine.” and further chapters ot the serial “ The Purple Domino ” will complete a capital programme.

On Thursday evening next the remarkable Eastern magician, Eee Toy Chung, will make his appearance at the Opera House, supported by a company of Vaudeville artists, presenting the same programme as given throughout the leading cities of the Dominion. Eee Toy Chung is a past master in the
mystic art, and presents quite a lot of new and novel spectacular illustrations, introducing for the first time here a realistic description of “ The Mystery of the Chinese Temple,” and terminatinga brilliant performance with a patriotic tableau, entitled “ The Battle of Flags.” Professor D’Almaine, the chief support of Lee Toy Chung, will introduce his wonderful hypnotic performances, giving a number of medical and scientific tests, together with very amusing coined} 7 scenes, that simply kept the audience in screams of laughter during the Christchurch season.
