Karloyi demanded that the independence of Hungary should be immediately proelamated, a separate peace made, the alliance with Germany dissolved the independence of the. south Slavonians acknowledged, and a Hungarian King proclaimed who shall reside in Budapest. Amid excitement the Prime Minister, M. Werkole, declared that they could not talk of a separate peace. The Government, lie added, would combat Karolyi’s threat of revolution by every means in its power.

RISING AT FIUME. COPENHAGEN, Oct. 25 Croatian soldiers at Fiume mutinied and barricaded the barracks, railway station, and public buildings. Troops were sent, but they would be unlikely lo attack the mutineers. Official circles attach importance to the coup at Fiume. Three regiments from Albania suppressed the Fiume revolt. Hundreds were killed in the streets.

Newspapers publish an official statement from Vienna showing the demobilisation of the Austro-Hungarian armies is in preparation. VIENNA STARVING. BERNE, October 26. Advices from Vienna reports' the city is reduced to the verge of starvation owing to tho stoppage of food supplies from Hungaria and Bohemia. The ministry is bewildered. Doctor Mickle, the chief of the Emperor’s civil Cabinet, suicided through grief at Austria's position. HAGUE, Oct. 27. It is reported from Vienna that Emperor Carl and family are leaving for Hungary.'- This is regarded as making the end of tiie Dual Monarchy. It is believed Carl will take the title of King of Hungary. If correct, this means an attempt to federative Austria and seek a closer connection with Southern Germany. Indications point to the crystalization of a scheme to establish a new German federation with a Catholic head.
