ROIL Of HONOUR.
■ Yesterday -Mrs Comport of Bimu received news of the death on active service of the third member of her family of sons who volunteered so readily for active service on the outbreak of war. file Hon. Minister of Defence telegraph regretting to advise that Harry Comport was killed in action on Oct. sth. Harry (Digger) was a bright young fellow- whose twentieth birthday passed only last month. The last letter from him was dated from France on the 25th August, lie vvroto bright and cheerfully from a rest camp prior to returning to the trenches. He was a popular young man among his comrades, being naturally of a very cheerful disposition. Mr and Mrs W. A. Comport of Bimu will have the sympathy of many friends far and near in their sad loss. The war makes heavy tolls on some families, and their portion has indeed been burdensome.
Of five sons of this family who went to the war, three have been killed in action, and the remaining two have returned wounded.
Mr. J. F. Wilson of Grcymouth, has received word that his brother, Private I. Wilson, of Reefton has been wound'd at tho front, for the second time, he having been previously wounded in April last.
