The High Commissioner reports from London 23rd. October at 12.40. a.m. Sir D. Haig reports—This morning wo attacked on the Le Cateau-Solesmcs front and good progress is reported. At 1. 45. a.m., General Haig reports We entered the western suburbs of Valenciennes and penetrated - doeply north-west thereof into Raisnes Forest,, towards the angle of the Scheldt, at Conde. Wo progressed eastward of St Amand and reached the Scheldt' at HolJain and Brityelle. Southward of Tournai wo captured Freyonnes. Further north there, was sharp fighting for the Scheldt crossings at Pontncliin.
