Private Otto Hanson, son of Mr. Peter Hansen of Woodstock has paid the extreme pe.nalty, news having come to hand this he has died of wounds received in action in Franco. Deceased left with the 37th Reinforcements and followed snmilling before enlisting.

Dir James Foote of Gibson Quay received advioe this morning that his son Private William Foote has died of wounds received in Franco. Deceased who was a native jtf Hokitika, and a well-known resident, left with the 37th Reinforcements. Deep sympathy will be felt for the parents and relatives. Deceased was engaged ns a carter prior to joining the forces.
