The National Party is stated to have ballotted in favour of preferential voting for next general eec-tion, but there are now conflicting statements regarding the voting at the Party’s ballot. Tlie uncertainty is intensified by the returning officer now announcing that the present position with 48 votes counted is a tie, there are two outstanding votes, which make the final issue doubtful.
