SUBMARINE MENACE.
fAUSTRALIAN & N.Z. CABER ASSOCIATION RED MURDER. (Received This Day at 10.35. a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 16. Government posesses proof that the submarine which sank the Leinster, received instructions to destroy the AngloIrish passenger -service, after Prince Max sent the first peace note to Mr Wilson. It. is probable that Mr Wilson knew this when he sent his reply, with reference to .the atrocities. Hon. MacNamara stated the Leinster was not escorted because she had a speed to twenty three knots.
IT- BOAT REPORT. (Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) [‘■reuter’s’’ telegram.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 16. Reports from Holland state it is believed Germany has offered to give up submarine warfare.
