An afternoon French communique states: North of the Vesle River we are continuing our advance. Wo havecaptured Livro. lif ihe region of Neuvillotte a violent German counterattack was resultless. In Hie Champagne, fights continued Inst evening. We captured Clialleraugo. The Germans made powerful efforts to throw us out of the woods south-oast of Orfeuil, where wo penetrated thrice. Their assaults were shattered. We have maintained all our gains and have inflicted heavy losses. j Our attack was resumed at daybreak f this morning. ;•
