A French Eastern communique states during Monday the Allied armies continued their advance until noon, when, according to tho armistice, hostilities were suspended. Tlie Serbians have occupied G radish and the Plavitse heights, between Uskub and the Bulgarian frontier. The Allies entered Ivicevo, and captured Stniga in the region of the lakes. Austrian troops west of Lake Orcrida are still resisting vigorously.

The Austrian paper “ Neuve Frol Prcsse ” states that the pro-Germans at -, Sofia are forming a new cabinet, j General Savioff lias been entrusted I with the reorganisation of the Bulgarian I troops. j Anstro-German circles believe that it - is not yet too late to save the situation in Bulgaria by a vigorous policy. According to Vienna reports, King Ferdinand of Bulgaria lias abdicated, and Prince Boris will act as Regent. SERBIAN ADVANCE. LONDON, Oct. 2. A Serbian semi-official report states: Nous of a rising of Serbians, Croatians and Slovenes should he received with great reserve. It is feared that Austro- ! Germans are inducing police to excite, peaceful inhabitants, to furnish a pretext to confiscate their property and imprison them in Austria-Hungary. ALBANIAN OFFENSIVE. WASHINGTON, Oct. 3. The Italian embassy states Italians in Albania have launched an offensive against the Austrians. FRENCH REPORT." (Received I’his n ” v • r " 1 1 2”>. a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 3.’ A French eastern communique, dated Oct. Ist, reports that French cavalry played a particularly brilliant part in the operations preceding the signing of the armistice. After entering Prilep on September 25th they captured considerable booty and subsequently vigorously co-operated with the infantry in over-coming enemy resistance before Voles. The cavalry turned the defences of Velcs by following an almost inpassable mountain path, and then daringly pentrated the enemy line, and on September 29th came within sight of Uskuh. which it carried dismounted, in sheer fighting, holding on despite, furiou>< comitcr-a,Hacks, aided by fresh Biilgnr reinforcements. The measures provided for in the armistice are being carried out.
