LATE LOCALS.
The Chamber of Commerce met last evening. Our report- is held over till to-morrow.
A large English, American, and New Zealand Expeditionary Force mail, per to Alakura from Vancouver, is due here on ' Thursday evening. T io Post and Telegraph Department advises a delay to inland deferred telegrams, owing to congestion of coble traffic. An improvement is expected shortly. Private word lias been received that Private Bert W incest or of Boss, is being invalided home as a result of wounds and is expected to reach the Dominion bv a hospital ship next month. At St. Alary’s Club on Tuesday night the ladies Ist. prize was won by Miss K. Murphy and the 2nd by Airs J. Fitzgerald. Mr T. Heenan secured the gouts Ist., (a thermos flask), and Ah- J. AlcCabe the 2nd (a set- of handkerchiefs). After supper had been handed around dancing was indulged in until midnight. iSongs were given by Messrs T. Hogan and Brandt, Miss E. Daly kindly supplied the dance music. The accompanists were Aliases Devancy and Daly.
