The Austro-Hungarian forces hero specially distinguished ‘themselves. The Franco-Ameiieans, advancing on the westward of the Aisne and eastward of tho Argonne, employed numerous tanks. Our advanced posts there, in accordance with orders, have retreated, fighting, to their allotted defence
lines. The enemy has reached the heights north-westward of Tahure and as far as Fontaine-en-Dormois, where our reserves have shot the bolt to the enemy s loca break through. The enemy made attacks beta con Auberive and south-eastward of Som-ine-Py, and also northward of Cernay, but these broke down. Between the Argonne and the Meuse the enemy reached Mont. Blainville, Mont Faucon, and the bend of tho AfeuSe nortli-oast of Mibnb Faucon, where he has been brought to a standstill by our reserves.
