POLLARD’S PICTURES.

“THE GARDEN OF ALLAH,” B,oooft, MONDAY.

On Monday evening in the Princess Theatre Pollards will present Selig’s masterpiece “The Garden of Allah.” The Selig Company have not put out many super features, but pictures like “ The Ne'er Do Well ” and “ The Spoilers ” stand as a big revelation of what they can do, and now has come from their studio an B,oooft pictnrisation of Robert Hicken’s great novel that will compare favourably with the best super features. Two great star artists are seen in the leading roles, Helen Ware as “Domini,” the woman who had seen the “terrors of love,” and Thomas Santsohe as “Boris,” the man who fled at the sight of a woman. This great picture can be summed up as the story of “a forbidden love’ and “ a Divine renunciation.” The Selig’s production is a. wonderful pieturisation of Robert Hicken’s thrilling romance of the desert —all passion, glamour and spectacle of the East are vividly portrayed in the film. Wonderful and magnificent pictures of desert storms are features of this great picture, “ None but God and I know what is in ray heart ” is Hie refrain of a singer in “ The Garden of Allah ” and it is also the theme of this great picture.
