The French have captured Butto-de-Mesnil. Butte-de-Talnire and Cernay, with seven thousand prisoners. They also carried the German position in Suieppe and Argonne to a depth of -throe miles. LONDON, Sep. 27. _ A French communique says this morning the Franco-American armies, closely co-operating, attacked on both sides of the Argonne. Tho operations are developing under satisfactory conditions. The advance of the French troops west of Argonne has attained a maximum depth of six kilometres. The battle continues. Night bombers dropped over twenty one tons of bombs in the region of Laon. Numerous fires and explosions upon targets were observed.
