“THE GARDEN OF ALLAH,”
MONDAY]
Tlio sotting and the theme of a picture drama have seldom been in such harmony as in tlie Selig’s 8000 ft picturisation of Robert Hicken's famous novel, “The Garden of Allah,” Pollard’s SOOOft star feature for next Monday. Not many masterpiece studies have been produced by the Selig Company, but those produced take a high standard, as witness, “The Ne’er-do-well,” and “The Spoilers,” and now comes “ The Garden of Allah,” a magnificent SOOOft spectacle. “The Garden of Allah ” is a panorama of the passion of tropic days and nights. The superb actor, Thomas Santsclie, is Boris, the man who was afraid of women, and Helen Ware, the woman, who. against, all advice, married him, and in the heart, of the desert, thought to find that infinite peace for which their hearts had yearned, but, there could be no peace for the man who loved and broke his vows. A startling scene in the play is a terrific sand storm that occurs just as they are being married. It was as though an angry fate was giving them a warning. Summed up “ The Garden of Allah ” is a drama which grips you from first to last.
