GENERAL HAIG’S REPORTS
[PER press association.— copyright. A GALLANT BAND. LONDON, September 21. Sir Douglas Ilaig reports: On the occasion of a hostile attack on Moeuvres on September 17 at corporal and six men of tho 15th Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry, 52nd Division forming the garrison of one of our costs just north of tho village, were surrounded, and were believed to be captured. During the two days in which the Germans were in occupation of Moeuvres this party maintained their position with groat gallantry, and inflicted many casualties on the enemy. On the night of September 19-20, when Moeuvres was retaken by us, the whole party regained their unit without loss.
A BRITISH CAPTURE, LONDON, September 23. Sir Douglas Haig reports: By a successful operation this morning northeast. of Epehy, we captured a strong point, which the enemy had stubbornly defended for the, past three days. Northwards of this locality a hostile counter attack entered our positions at one point, where a party of the enemy are still holding out. Elsewhere the attack was repulsed.
