A HAH UR A FAT STOCK SALE. The usual stock fixture took plot* ;u tlic above yards yesterday, the entry comprising 85 head of prime quality cattle, and it was generally admitted to have been the best all round yarding for finished stnfl seen at Arnhuia for a long time past. Thp cattle from South Westland were penned in excellent condition, and competition was keen from the si art to the finish of the sale. There was a distinct hardening tendency in the price and bed sold well over £3 per hundred, but at Ibis figure butchers were satisfied that the cpialitv was good, oven though the price was high. The following sales were recorded : Messrs Moss and Co. sold for Condon "Bros. 26 cows and heifers from C2-> 2s Gd to DIG 10s.
Messrs Jeffries and Co. sold for Mosers "Walsh Bros., 27 prime bull from £22 os to £lB, averaging £2O 12s Gd, an| on account of Messrs F G. Williams and Sons, 22 prime bullocks from £2B to £2O 15s, averaging £2:l los Od; and on account of Mr Huirh Johnstone, 1 vealcrs from £3 4s to £2 Gs, one two-year steer £7. one light cow £8 10s.
• Messrs AT. .Houston and Co. report as follows: —Wo held our usual fixture at lip, above yards yesterday, our yarding comprising 20 head cattle. Competition was very keen throughout, beef showing a further advance on recent sales, and reaching- 70 s and over per liundred. We sold on account of -Mr TT. Diodriehs, 1 bullock at £26 17s Gd, 2at £23 17 S Gd. 2at £22 7s Gd, 2at £22 2s Gd, G at £2l 17s Gd, 2 at .CIS, 2 at £l7 10s. 1 at £l4 15s, 4 heifers a.t £l4 2s Gd, 1 at £l4.
