GREY QUEEN CARNIVAL
The Carnival Queen competition at Gre.ymouth in connection tvith the Copper Trail was brought to a very successful conclusion last evening when there was an overflowing gathering at the Opera House. Tlu* total amount realised out of the competetion reached ££3,241 ; though the total for the live queens is actually within a few pounds of £3,200. Tlie final position of the Queens and amount raised for each are as follows: No I.—Combined Schools, (blue and white’) Miss Russell—Amount collected £1,082. No 2.—Farmers’ (black and white), .Miss liayliiitt, amount, collected .£678. No 3,—Railway and Foundry etc,, (red and green), Aliss Lone. Amount collected £O3O. No b.—Shipping, Timber. Banks ami Government Otlicos. etc,, (.red, white and blue), -Miss Hopkins. Amount collected. £430. No 4.—Business Peoples’ (red and blue). Miss Smith. Amount collected £3OB. Total £3.194,
