A French communique states our aviators on Thursday and Friday actively participated in the American offensive, notwithstanding the gale, clouds and rain.

LONDON, September 15. » Twenty-one important German towns were bombed by Independent Air Force during August including the following, thrice:—Frankfort factories and railways; Mannheim chemical factories; tho Metz-Salden railways; Saarbourg Thionville and Treves railways and workshops. Other towns bombed once were: —Battonbourg, Burbach, Coblentz, Cologne, Darmstadt, Dillengen, Duron, Ehrange, Karlshruhc, Luxemborg, Offenbourg, Remilly, Rombach, Saaralto and Yolkin gen. Over one hundred tons of explosives were dropped. During tho post three months, 249 raids into Germany, took place, and 247 tons were dropped. The German territory brought- into the war zone, represents west of the Rhine Valley approximately 250 miles long.
