A special cablo frqm the New Zealand Government’s official correspondent in Egypt, reporting on operations in August, states the New Zealand Brigade returned from the rest camp to Jordan Valley on the 16th August., remaining in reserve and training. The men and horses are in fine fighting form. General Allcnhy prcsontel the ribbons for honour, and congratulated all ranks on the splendid work done. The summer operations in the Jordan Valley were the most trying time of the camnnign, the temperature often being up to 120 degrees. It was seldom below a hundred degrees. Successful measures for the prevention of malaria, under medical instruction, made the remaining in the valley possible.
