ANTI-OPIUM AGITATION. (Received This Dev at 11.iff), a.m., NEW' YORK, September 9. The New York “Times” Pekin correspondent states the anti-opium agitation is developing. Strong intei-pclla lion and addresses had been given in Parliament concerning the revival of trade. The Minister of "the Interior replied that the American Red Cross had applied for, and United States lnd confiscated the opium for medical purposes. The Ministers’ reply is considered an evasion in parliamentary circles.
