POLLARD’S PICTURES.
“THE THOROUGHBRED.”— THURSDAY.
Everybody likes a racing story—and “The Thoroughbred’’ the big live, act Triangle racing story of Sunny Virginia is one of the best ever screened, and will be presented by Pollard’s Pictures on to-morrow (Thursday) evening. The sterling actor Frank Keenan is featured as the old military officer who loves racing for sports sake, he loves Miss Betty his grand-daughter and Miss Minta a beautiful racing specimen of the Thoroughbred. Tlie play is full ot plantation negro scenes and tlie story centres round a young parson who comes to the town to fight everything that he considers to be evil and then the parson finds himself in trouble for lie finds be loves Miss Betty the grand-daughter and hates the race horse. Miss Mintn, and therefore puts himself in direct opposition to the sporting colonel. The plot has many surprises especially how the parson takes a hand and enters into the real spirit of true sport. The race is an exciting one, and ends in the parson t both winning the girl and her grand dad in a glorious fighting finish. “The Runaway Car,” the 7th. Chapter of “A Lass of the Lumborlnnd” continues the successful career of this great serial.
