PBINCE ARTHUR IN JAPAN
EMPEROR AT THE STATION Tokto, June 18 Prince Arthur of Connaught's arrival here to-day to present a Brit.ieh field-marshal's baton from Hie Kino- to the Emperor provided an example of the capacity of the Japanese for organisation. The scene was of the most martial character. From the station to the Kasumiga-eki Palace the route was lined by iroops, representatives of societies, school boys and girls, and students. The Emperor arrived at the station 15 minutes before the Prince’s tram came in from Yokohama, and the reception on the platform was attend'd only by the highest in the land■ m d by the British Ambassador, Sir ‘A. Gonyngham Greene. Simple greetings were exchanged by the Emperor and the Prince, who conversed and walked down the phitform to the Imperial waiting-:oom.
