A French official report states Noyon was captured, and eastwards a footing has been gained on the slopes of Mortaine Simmon, capturing Landremont, Morlincourt. Progress was made on the Oise Aisne fronts. THREE FRENCH ARMIES. SWEEPING ON IN CLOSE COORDINATION. (Received This Dav at 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, August 29. French Headquarters reports that: Three French Armies are sweeping on in close co-ordination. General Humbert’s at ten this morning captured Noyon, General Mangin’s crossed the Oise for the first time and occupied Morlincourt on the left bank, and General Debeney’s captured Quesnov Wood.

A French communique reports that during the day we made progress in the region of the canal Duedonod, which wo skirted for the whole length, except towards Cantigno and Lerngiso. We captured Quesnoy Wood, north-east of Levilly and Beaurains. Southward, the battle has become bitterly violent. We carried Noyon by sheer fighting, and reached the southeast, edge of Lagincourt, east of Noyon. We gained a footing on the southern slopes of Mont St. Simon, and took Unndrincourt, Morlincourt, and several hundreds of prisoners. We crossed Ailette between the Oise ‘ and Aisne at several points, north and ,g| Champ 9, despite resistance. We had captured Cuny and Pont St March
