NAPIER, August 27. At the Supreme Court, Francis Norton Thompson, solicitor, of Hastings, was charged with the theft of trust moneys, totalling .01,780 from a client named Gotfriod Potrowski. The Jury disagreed and a new trial was ordered for next session.
Henry Martini farm manager, was charged wit the theft of 5 cattle, from die bankrupt estate of I*. Cassin. The accused cjnimed an interest, in those and was found not guilty. Stanly Alexander Lawless was found not fiiilty of indecent assault. August 27. At the Supreme Court, Frank Hughes for breaking and enteringjuid theft and with a previous bad record, was- declared a habitual criminal. Bar ley Cooper Douglas pleaded guilty to two charges of receiving stolen goods and was sentenced to 2 years’ on each charge, to he cumulative. Rongi otone Rnpika was convicted of obtaining money under false pretences and ordered to roino up for sentence when called upon. Arthur IT. F. Eenn, lor forging a cheque of £7O and entering same, was sentenced to rofoimatii e detention not exceeding live years.
