ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. PRICES FIRMER, (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding the above sales on "Wed nesday. Fat Cattle. There was a medium yard ing and a few extra good lines. Prices all over were slightly higher than a fortnight ago. Freezing buyers were unable to operate. Extra steers sold to £3O; prime, £lB to £2l; ordinary and unfinished £l4 10s to £1(5; cows and heifers £l2 to £ls, and up to £lB 10s for extra.
Store cattle.—There was a small yarding including several pens of good 4 year old steers, which made £l2 to £l4 12s 6d; 3-.vear old steers CIO to £ll 10s ; dry cows £0 to £9; yearlings £5 10s to' £7. The demand was good all round and the general tone of the market firm. Fat sheep.—Moderate yardings were finite sufficient for butchers requirements but owing to '-graziers operating on light and medium stuff, the market was slightly firmer, than last market. Rest wethers 55s to 58s; prime, 43s to 49s Od; graziers sorts. 9.'is to 38s. Very few ewes were yarded and these sold well at corresponding rates. Store sheep.—There was a larger yarding and all dry sheep were very firm, but ewes which formed the largest part of the entry were harder to sell, especially old and backward sorts. Ewe hoggets, 26s to 33s 3d; M. S. hoggets 23s Gd to 28s (id ; wether hoggets, 18s Gd to 26s 9d ; owes best G and 8-tooth close to lambing 40s, S.M. owes '27s Gd to 30s; old and backward 18s to 24s Gd. Very few wethers were yarded and those sold from 28s to 34s Gd.
