TO-NIGHT’S BAIL
The final seal of excellence having been set upon the preparations of the Grand Coppertrail Masquerade Ball by the promise of Che Municipal Band to attend, wo can expect to sec the big majority of Hokitikn citizens wending their way in festive attire to the Drill Shed to-night. The hall has been handsomely decorated with evergreens, ferns and bunting, and an abundant and delicious supper is prepared. The t icket selling justifies expectation of a joyous company bent upon enjoying everything, and on making this ball one of the record events in helping to win the “ Coppertrail Battle.” The entrance to the ball will be from barf street. Patrons will be glad to hear that the Committee have received intimation that his Highness Prince Gollywog will be pleased to attend, and wo guarantee a marked increase of merriment will accompany his arrival. He writes; “ I’rn the Gollywog so knowing 1 I’m just now engaged in crowing, For you know to-night £ 7 m showing At the “ Coppertrail ’’ Ball! ” Vml the Town Band will be towing Crowds along to where I’m showing, And the “Coppertrail” be growing At the* Grand Masque Ball! ”
