The directorates of the National and the Colonial Bank of Australasia hav drafted a scheme for amalgamation of the two institutions, which will shortly be submitted for the approval of shareholders. Tho new institution will be called the National Bank of Australasia, and have a paid-up capital of £2,000,000, with a nominal capital of £5,000,000, hv a readjustment and reissue of shares to the present holders.
