METROPOLITAN TROTS. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 14. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s August meeting opened to-day, in dull and windy weather. The track was in excellent order. The attendance was large and speculation brisk, £38,777 10s passing through the tote as against C 28.308 for the corresponding day la:st year. The results are:—
