APPOINTMENT OF RECTOR. | At the monthly meeting the Canterbury Education Board at Christchurch yesterday, some seventeen applications were received for the position of Headmaster of the local School, vice Mr L. F. do Berry, transferred to Mar ton. Tho Board resolved to send the names J of the following three teachers to tho j Hokitika School ’Committee for recommendation as to a selection.— John Brunton, of Southbrook. Wilfred Carton, of Akaroa. Henry 1,. Wilson of Kaikoura. Air John Brunton, whoso name appears first on tho list is a- Master of iAJts, married, and stands 24th -on the grade list of teachers. Air dc Berry’s grade list position was 11. Tin; School Committee on receipt of the formal notification from tho Canterbury Board will hold a special meeting to consider the selection to be made.
