The death of Mrs Annie Nelson, relict of Win Nelson, occurred yesterday, at her residence, Blakotovn. The deceased who had reached the hale old age of 87 years, leaves two of a, family Mrs W. Nelson of Blahetown, and Airs Orr of gydney.

Advice lias been received that Mr Andrew Stenhouse, of St Kilda, Victoria, and uncle of Mr James Stonhouse of Grcymoutli, passed peacefully away on Tuesday. The late Mr Sten house was a well-known resident of Grcymoutli and Hokitika in the old pioneering days. Bis age was 82 years.

A severe' accident occurred at the Dunollio Railway yards yesterday afternoon. A special train was engaged in shunting, and by some means a railway porter named John Burns of Cobden. was knocked down and a truck passed over him, almost severing his left leg near the thigh and badly bruising him. He was immediately conveyed to the hospital, where lie passed away at 6 o’clock. The deceased never recovered from the shock. Much sympathy is felt for deceased’s relatives in their hour of trouble. Porter Burns was a favourite with all he came in contact with and resided i„ Cobdcn.
