WEDDING BELLS.

! A quiet and very pretty wedding was ' celebrated at tjhe Catholic Church, Esher Avenue, Walton-on-Thames, Eng- ’ j land, at 10 n.m. on May 2nd, when Rifleman John Close, 2nd Battalion N.Z.R.B. (of Kumara, New Zealand) and Miss Mabel Constance Clarke, | daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Clarke,

Walton, England, were tho contracting persons. Miss Hilda Clarke, of Rensington, cousin of tho bride, was the bridesmaid, and Rifleman J. Routhan, Ist N.Z.R.8., was groomsman. A large number of friends were present at the church, and the party was given a rousing send-off. After the ceremony an adjournment was made to Mrs Benstead’s residence, Manor Road, where a substantial repast was done justice to. The presents were both numerous and useful. The bridal pair left Weybridge by the 1.10 train, for Slough, where tho honeymoon was pent.
