LATE LOCALS
The Overseas Orchestra practice this evening at the Town Hull at quarter to eight. The North Revell Street firebcll rang out a short alarm last evening after 8 o’clock. The cause of the alarm was a chimney on fire in Mr. W. Pasc-oe’s residence, Revell Street, which was soon put out.
Vh© Chief Postmaster has boon advised that there were no New Zealand mails aboard the White Star liner Justieia when she was recently sunk owing to enemy action.
Messrs McGruer and Co of Greymouth distribute an inset with this issue dealing with their clearing sale commencing on August Ist.
