POLLARD’S PICTURES,

“ SOULS ADRIFT,” THURSDAY.

On Thursday evening - in the Princess Theatre Pollards will present Ethel Clayton in the World film’s powerful play “ Souls Adrift.” The entire World Film Company of artists engaged in making “ Souls Adrift,” made atrip to a deseited Isle of the Bahamas. Consequently the effects are wonderful, strange tropical vegetation, wild birds and weird animals all appearing in the. most wonderful way. The story is one of love and shipwreck. A society debutante is cast on a deserted" island with the man her father had ruined. He was the primitive second engineer of the luxurious pleasure yacht owned by her dissolute father. She had crept from the scene of wanton revelry at the dinner table, : nd this man was on deck—this man whom she had

loved in the long ago. Then came a muffled roar from the depths of the ship and these two were left to face the perils of the sea, and the still greater perils of the lonely land. The boat scene is a wonderfully realistic scene, notably the dramatic struggle for the last drop of water.

The 2nd chapter, “ The Wreck in the Fog,” of the big serial “ A Lass of the Lumberlauds ” pictures Holmes after twenty years married and rich. His first wife and daughter alive, the thread of destinjl- - to weave its net and the real story commences.
