MINISTERIAL VISIT.

ACTING I’KTME MINISTER COMING.

Hon. Sir James Allen, Acting-Pre-mier and .Minister of Defence, telegraph ed to the County Chairman (15. AA’nrd Esq.,) yesterday as follows: - "After visiting Nelson early next month, 1 propose to pay a visit to. Cap* tain Seddon’s constituency, and shall In' spending Wednesday night in Greymouth. On Thursday, Bth, lam arranging to visit Kumarn, subsequently going to Hokitika and Ross, and back to Greymouth on Friday afternoon, leaving by train for Christchurch on Saturday 10th. I hope to have the pleasure, of meeting you in Hokitika.”

It is understood that Sir James Allen will arrive in Hokitika on the afternoon of Thursday, Bth August. ft is likely that a number of public and private deputations will meet the Acting- Premier while here. No jfublie function is being proposed at Hokitika, as the Minister's’ stay being short his time will be fully taken up with deputations.

At Ross on the following morning the Mayor and Council will present Sir James Allen with an address, and in torview him on local matters.

It has been suggested that if the time permits the Minister might open officially the Boss lime works. There is also a proposal afoot that the official opening of the Mikonui bridge might take place the same day.
