PRICE OF MEAT
SYDNEY, July 29th. The fixed prices for meat have created a shortage and there is widespread disapproval amongst the butchers and stock raisers. Beef on hoof at Homebush Saleyards feelied 2d and 3d above the proclaimed price of dead meat.

MELBOURNE, July, 29. The firm of Paterson, Lang, and Bruce lias established a profit sharing amongst its employees, accompanied by provision for sickness and old age pensions The chairman explained that he considered this the best solution to industrial troubles that were likely to arise after.the war. Returned soldiers will he given special consideration. Other "firms arc* considering a similar scheme.
