HIMITANGI WRECKED.
AT CHATHAM ISLANDS

CHRISTCHRUCH, July 29 Advice has been received that the steamer Himitangi was wrecked on the Monau Reef, Chaham Islands, at 1.30 a.m. to-day, while on a passago from Waitangi to Kaingaroa. The- passengers and crew were saved. No particulars are availalbe here.
A TOTAL WRECK. WELLINGTON, July 29. The censor passed the following message which was received at Wellington by rndio: “Himitangi wrecked on Mohan Reef at- Waitangi, west of the Chat ham Islands nt 5.30 Monday morning. Probably a total loss. The vessel .is fall of water. All hands are safe.” A full report later. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The steamer Himitangi, wrecked at the Chatliams, left Lyttelton last Thursday under- command of Captain Thompson, who has been trading to Chathams for sixteen years. Tile vessel was expected to bring back tho Maoris who arc duo to appear at the •Supreme Court, next, weekjn connection with the tohunga affair.
