THE AUSTRIAN UNREST. NEW YORK, July 28. The New York “Times” Paris correspondent says reliable information shows a thousand Slovaks, Croats and Jugoslavs deserting from the Austrian armies are living in the mountains. Austrian military authorities don’t care to take drastic measures to prevent desertion for fear it would cause an open revolt.
AUSTRIAN PROPOSAL. AMSTERDAM, July 28. Emperor Karl, in his letter, which was cabled recently also advocated 1-hat King Ferdinand, the First of Roumapm should join in a proposed League of Kings to combat the menace of international revolution. Count Reventlow and other German writers are expressing doubts *as to the truth of what they call a clumsy Vienna denial, and they declare that Emperor Karl aimed at weakening Germany and at eradicating German influeincio in Roumania. The German press reports that the King of Roumania has now been ordered again to place the whole of Rouhiahin under martial law,
