Tlio “Daily Express’’ states that the Government withdraws the younger strikers’ exemption certificates on Monday if the strike continues.
60,000 STRIKERS. LONDON, July 25
Sixty thousand men of Birmingham area left work to-night, and are determined not to return until the embargo is withdrawn, or suspended pending negotiations.
STRIKE NEWS. (Received Tide One at 11 2d. n.m ) LONDON, July 25. Birmingham strikers include the electrical workers, consequently many are unable to work, owing to the lack of current. It is estimated 150,000 are nf fected in Birmingham area. Factories at Coventry' continue open, althougn disorganised by the withdrawal of sixteen thousand men.
A mass meeting at Barrow decided to abide- by tho decision .pf the national Conference of Nottingham Engineers who advised the men to remain at work
London district Engineer Executive are not satisfied of the necessity ol the embargo and are calling a mass meeting to consider the position.
