IRISH NEWS. A CHALLENGE TO GOVERNMENT. [per press association. —copyright.] LONDON. July 24tli. The Gaelic Athletic Association, as a direct challenge to Government’s proclamation, proposes holding sports festi vals throughout the country on Sunday week and is not asking permission. Sinn Fein branches have been instructed that they must not ask or accept permits for demonstrations. The General Workers Union, also the Hibernians and United Irish Ivongue are acting similarly, in defiance of the Government.
